Home Décor Contest Participation

• Participation for either contests is open to all Old Farm Estates residents within the boundaries of the Old Farm Estates subdivision, St. Louis, MO.

• Entry is free, no cost or fees apply to participate. This does not pertain to the individual homeowner’s personal cost to decorate their personal property.

• Entry applications must be received no later than 11:00 p.m. by each defined deadline, listed above, for the specific contest. Residents must submit their address via the online Google Form, shared with residents, along with their category and one image.

• Resident participants must agree to have their addresses posted on the OFE website and Facebook page.

• Only OFE residents may nominate their own home.

 

Decorations

• The contest is for exterior decorations only, including decorations in windows visible from the exterior. Resident judging will be done from outside the residence only.

• All contestants must have decorations displayed/lit from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., during the voting period.

• All decorating must be done by the homeowner, not a professional decorator.

• Decorations can include anything - lights, posters, folk art - you name it! Each house will be judged based on its entire presentation.

• Resident participants must keep decorations family friendly. Submissions with vulgar or inappropriate decorations will not be accepted.

• Decorations must comply with Old Farm Estates HOA and St. Louis County ordinances and housing codes.

• Participants should ensure all lights and decorations are in place and activated for the judging period.

• Please ensure that your street address is visible on your home.

 

Judging

• Residents will receive access to participating addresses/resident's homes.

• Resident judging will take place online via a Google Form, as defined by the above dates by each specific contest.

• Resident judging will be based on “curb appeal” as viewed from the street only. Therefore, only those decorations on the street side of the property will be judged (corner lots will be judged from both streets). Resident judges will not enter the property to view back or side yards.

• Resident judging criteria will include:

  • Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations;

  • Story-line or theme;

  • Display and placement of decorations; and

  • Overall presentation.

 

Promotions & Communications

• Participants agree to have one or more photos of their decorated residence exterior posted on the OFE Website and Facebook page.

• Participants agree there will be no compensation for said posting or publication.

• OFE HOA reserves the right to reproduce participant images.

Contest Communication & Recognition

• Each winner will receive bragging rights, a $10 gift card, a temporary winner lawn sign, & website/social media promotion.

• The OFE Engagement Committee will announce the winning homes via OFE Facebook and OFE website. Winners will receive a phone call and email with this information.

• Winners will also be promoted on the OFE Website and Facebook page.
